History of Lexington MA
Lexington
started as a farming community in the mid 1600’s, and began to rapidly
develop (especially in the housing market) after the World War II.
Lexington used to be called Cambridge Farms in the Late 1600’s, when the
town was actually a parish instead of a town. Lexington also provided
Boston with much of its agricultural produce, and remained as a hub for
farming for many years until manufacturing and service industries began
to increase in numbers. For those interested in re-living the history
that surrounds the town of Lexington, there are re-enactments of famous
battle scenes that really thrill residents as well as visitors alike,
and that really educate people in the rich history that makes the town
so great. There is much more to be learned about the town of Lexington,
and Lester Savage and David Williams would love to tell you more!
